This course introduces the basic signal and system models used in communication, signal processing, and computer engineering. In particular, the time and frequency domain representations in signals and systems are modeled and analyzed in both continuous and discrete forms. Students are expected to acquire the knowledge and skills to transform and inverse-transform the time and frequency domain representation of signals/systems.

This course introduces a foundation of signals and systems which is the basis of the discipline of electronics and computer engineering. In particular, we address the mixture of continuous- and discrete-time signal/system representations, Linear Time Invariant system, Fourier Series, Fourier Transform, Laplace Transform, and their representative examples in communication, signal processing, and computer engineering.
